Model Polytechnic Project - PXE Based RHEL Deployment

The last few days we have been working on a project for Rima Vincent, Riyas P.S, Rohith T.S, Sajish K.P, Shahil T.I and Sheen Parokkaran for their final year project called PXE Based RHEL Deployment. This project based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5 x64 is working remarkably well. All we need to do now is to complete the documentation for the project.

I am thinling of some online conferance

At Accel IT Academy, we have a lot of problems to solve. I am thinking of having some online conferance section to our existing site - accel.asia - I am not sure if I could set this up easily. This Conference call idea might save some of the problems that we are currently facing. Its not as good as a face to face session - but much better than traveling all ove Kerala or even over India. It will save us the time and cost.

PCI Compliant Hosting

Well I am not talking about Peripheral Component Interconnect or Pharmacy Council of India or Pest Control India. lol.. I am talking about Payment Card Industry (PCI). If you have a web site or a portal accepting payments then you need to have a pci compliance hosting. The Data Security Standard by the The Payment Card Industry is widely regarded as an essential part of conducting business securely on the Web. Firewalls, IP logging and encrypted data transmission are just a part of what you need to get make everything secure.

Web Hosting

There are certain things to look into if you wish to have a good web site or a blog - You need to find a decent web hosting service. By decent I mean that you need to have at least 99.9% uptime, with a good amount of space and bandwidth. The amount of space is based on the scripts that you use in your website. I would say approximately 200 - 300 MB space would be enough for most purposes. Regarding bandwidth - about 2 - 3GB would be enough for most medium sites.

Need to make better presentations

I have already created presentations for CCNA. Though this presentation covers most of the stuff, I feel that a better presentation needs to be made. I have left out some topics like wireless, SDM etc which I should include in the new one. Also I have to create presentations for CWNA, CCSA and CCSE. Oops and I keep forgetting about Linux, I have to take Linux batches more often or else I might forget about the whole subject.
