Went to Koodalmanikyam Temple
We went to see the annual festival at Koodalmanikyam Temple last saturday(5th may 2012) and this saturday (12th may 2012). I went with my friend Amal Raj on both occasions.

Went to see Thrissur Pooram Chamayam
Today 30th April 2012 - the day before the Thrissur Pooram, we (me, my cousin Adarsh and my friend Amal Raj) went to see the Thrissur Pooram Chamayam. We started late at about 9:00Pm because Amal had work related issues. We went straight to see the Chamayam of Paramekkavu. We returned home at about 11:30PM.
Thrissur Pooram Sample Fireworks
On 29th April 2012 was Thrissur Pooram Sample fireworks. We four (me, my cousin Adarsh and my friends Amal Raj and Aneesh) went to see the sample fireworks. There was a hint of rain. A few drops were falling. And then Paramekkavu stared the fireworks. Even though its my thattakam, I must critisize them - the 1st kootaporichil was absolutely lame, boring. It was too lengthy - there was a lot of delay in between each gund. But the finish was good. Thrivambady’s kootaporichil was short but very brisk - I thought they did a good job. After that both parties tried out different amittu - both nothing new to talk about - but still ok. In the last both parties had kuzhi minnals - this they did ok.
In the end it didn’t rain.. and we returned home not very happy as we have seen better fireworks..But we are waiting for Thrissur pooram..

Went to Pathirakkattu Temple
I went to Pathirakkattu Temple located at Nadathara, Thrissur for pradistha dinam on 25th April 2012. I started from my home at about 4:00 PM. I had never been to this temple - so I had to ask for directions (which I hate). The main attraction for me was the panjari melam (which had already started by the time I reached the temple) conducted by Peruvanam Kuttan Marar. I really enjoyed it. After that there was a fireworks display (at nearby field - walking distanc eof about 5 min from the temple) which was decent. The started the fireworks at about 7:00PM - actually it was scheduled to be at 7:30PM - but they started it early due to fear of rain.
Went to see Thrissur Pooram Kodiyettam
This is the first time I am seeing the Thrissur Pooram Kodiyettam. I went to Paramekkavu Bagavathi Temple (which is my thattakam) on 25th April 2012 at about 10:30 AM after having my breakfast. I was a little early - so I sat in the temple for some time. There were a lot of familiar faces among the crowd gathered over there - most of them are my from my locality. The kodiyettam took place at approximately 12:00PM. After that I went to the Swaraj Round or Thrissur Round to see the fireworks. I sat under the tree chatting with my neighbors under the fireworks started at approx 1:30PM. After that I went home.
